REILLY, Chief Judge:

Appellant was found guilty by a jury of armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon in violation of D.C.Code 1973, §§ 22-2901 and 22-3202, and § 22-502, respectively. The trial court imposed sentences of three to nine years on the first count and one to three years on the second, the terms to run consecutively. Appellant assigns as error (1) the imposition of sentences prescribed by statute as penalties for these particular offenses in contradistinction to sentences under the Youth Corrections Act, as to both counts, and (2) his conviction of assault with a dangerous…
