MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

CASTILLO, District Judge.

This is the plaintiff George W. Schmidt’s second attempt in his long and unsuccessful quest to secure social security disability benefits in the federal courts. In his first appearance before this Court, Schmidt successfully obtained a remand. Schmidt v. Shalala, No. 94 c 5627, slip op. (N.D.Ill. Sept. 29, 1995) (“Schmidt I ”). Schmidt seeks review of the defendant’s final decision denying him disability insurance benefits pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 405(g).
