OPINION

CLAY, Circuit Judge.

Defendant, Johnnie Edgar Warwick, appeals the judgment of conviction and sentence entered by the district court on July 17, 1997, following the defendant’s bench trial, whereby Warwick was convicted of, inter alia, three counts of using or carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 924(c). The government cross-appeals from the same judgment, by which the district court also found Warwick not guilty of an additional § 924(c) count.
