The act of Congress of August 19, A. D. *841841, for establishing a uniform system of bankruptcy, provides that the bankrupt shall at all times be subject to examination, orally or upon written interrogatories, before the District Court, or any commission appointed by the court therefor, on oath, &c. “ and if in any such examination he shall wilfully and corruptly answer, or swear, or affirm, falsely, he shall be deemed guilty of perjury, and shall be punishable therefor, in like manner as the crime of perjury is now punishable by the laws of the United States.” §4.
