OPINION
PEAY, Judge.
The defendant was convicted by a jury of attempted first-degree murder and theft of property over one thousand dollars ($1000). After a hearing, the trial court sentenced the defendant to the Department of Correction for twenty-five years as a Range I standard offender on the attempted murder and for three years on the theft, to run consecutively. On this direct appeal, the defendant contends that the evidence was not sufficient to support his conviction for attempted first-degree murder and that his sentences are excessive.
