Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Tompkins County (Rowley, J.), rendered April 5, 2013, convicting defendant upon his plea of guilty of the crime of manslaughter in the first degree.

Defendant was charged in an indictment with numerous crimes, including manslaughter in the first degree, after he repeatedly stabbed his estranged wife’s boyfriend (hereinafter the victim) and caused his death.
