Briscoe, C.J.:

Jacqueline Rae Coulter appeals the denial of her application for writ of habeas corpus.

On October 24, 1988, the First State Bank of Elwood, Kansas, was robbed. As a result of this robbery, Coulter was charged in federal court with aiding and abetting (18 U.S.C. § 2 [1988]), bank robbery (18 U.S.C. § 2113[a] [1988]), and assault while committing bank robbery (18 U.S.C. § 2113[d] [1988]). A jury acquitted her of those charges. After her acquittal in federal court, Coulter was charged in state district court with three counts of aggravated assault (K.S.A. 21-3410). These charges…
