OPINION

HENDLEY, Judge.

Plaintiff was awarded 50% partial permanent disability pursuant to the Workmen’s Compensation Act. Sections 59-10-1 through 59-10-37, N.M.S.A.1953 (2d Repl. Vol. 9, pt. 1, 1974). Subsequently, plaintiff filed a motion for “a lump sum award equal to the present value of all future payments of compensation computed at 5% discount, compounded annually” on the ground that it was in his best interest. The trial court, pursuant to § 59-10-25(B), supra, directed defendants to pay to plaintiff a lump sum award as set forth in the motion. Defendants appeal that award and as…
