This bill was filed in November, 1869, to test the validity of the acts of the mayor and other officers of the city of Nashville, and to avoid a large amount of liabilities created by them against the city corporation. The mayor was A. E. Alden, the obligations were issued by him and his associate officer, the recorder of the corporation, purporting to he liabilities of the municipal corporation, which these officers represented as official agents.
