{¶ 1} Justin Farthing appeals from a judgment of the Greene County Court of Common Pleas, which found him guilty of retaliation and sentenced him to four years of imprisonment.

{¶ 2} The state’s evidence established the following facts.

{¶ 3} Susan Johnson had been Farthing’s parole officer prior to March 1999. In early 2000, Farthing was incarcerated at the Pickaway Correctional Institution (“PCI”) and apparently did not know that his case had been reassigned to another parole officer.
