The defendant bank, by succession to the Equitable Trust Company of New York, became the trustee of an indenture of trust executed January 31, 1928, as of January 1, 1928. The indenture was executed by National Electric Power Company, and covered an issue of $10,000,000 of its debentures. There were deposited with the trustee, at the time of the execution of the trust indenture, as security for the debentures provided for thereunder, 85,000 shares of the common stock of New England Public Service Company, 155,989 shares of the common stock of Penn Central Light and Power Company, 29,993…
