ENOCH, Judge.

Defendant appeals his conviction of second degree burglary, first degree assault, and attempted first degree murder. We affirm.

About 8:30 a.m. on April 30, 1978, Edward Scown descended the stairs from the second floor of his Durango home and discovered defendant (age 16) standing about four feet from him, brandishing a hunting knife with a 5-inch blade.
