OPINION OF THE COURT

2Per curiam

Petitioner, a Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York, is charged with violating the Rules of Judicial Conduct. The charges are based upon petitioner’s promise to a former political leader that he would adjourn a pending case at the leader’s request (charge I) and his false statements to agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (charge II). The Commission on Judicial Conduct sustained the charges and determined that petitioner should be removed from office.
