Based on several articles published in the Daily News involving his decisions as a Superior Court judge, the Honorable Leon A. Kendall filed claims for libel against the newspaper and the authors of the articles. A jury returned a verdict finding for Judge Kendall on his defamation claims against both the Daily News and one of its writers, Joy *785Blackburn.
