March 15, 1892, there was filed in the county court, of Douglas county by the appellee herein a claim against the estate of William H. Craig, deceased, then in process of administration in said court. The claim was for the sum of $25,000, and predicated on an alleged subscription by William H. Craig, when living;, of such sum “as an endowment for the Charles H. Fowler Professorship of Christian Ethics.” During the course of .the contest which ensued relative to the allowance of the demand an amended statement of the claim was filed, and after a number of adjournments of the hearing of the…
