In September, 1897, the Treasury Department requested the Attorney General to give such instructions to the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut as might be necessary to have proceedings in condemnation instituted against certain real estate in the city of Bridgeport owned by Judson, in order that the United States might acquire title thereto, for an addition to the post office in that city, authorized by act of July 19, 1897.
