A jury convicted Terrance C. Jackson of second-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon for the March 27, 2014, killing of Gerald Smith on the Fort Bert-hold Indian Reservation in New Town, North Dakota. The district court 2 sentenced Jackson to 480 months of imprisonment and five years of supervised release.
