We consider cross appeals from a judgment of the Superior Court awarding the plaintiff $25, together with attorney’s fees of $9,000 and costs of $2,170, following the judge’s determination that the defendant, an insurer of used automobiles with respect to property damage, had violated G. L. c. 93 A, § 2, by failing to give the plaintiff timely notice that his coverage had been suspended because the insured vehicle had not been inspected within seven days of the effective date of the policy.
