Defendant, John W. Borst, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in violation of section ll — 501(a)(2) of the Illinois Vehicle Code (the Code) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 95½, par. 11— 501(a)(2)), being in actual physical control of a vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration of .10 or more in violation of section 11— 501(a)(1) of the Code (Ill. Rev.
