The defendant, Robert Ellis, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of sixteen counts of sexual misconduct involving three separate victims.1 With respect to the first victim, Sarah S., the defendant was convicted of one count of attempted sexual assault in the first degree in violation *340of General Statutes §§ 53a-492 and 53a-70 (a) (l),3 three counts of sexual assault in the fourth degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-73a (a) (2),4 two counts of risk of injury to a child in violation of General Statutes (Rev. to 1999) § 53-21 (l),5…
