ORS 652.140(2) requires an employer to pay unpaid wages within a specified time to an employee who “quits employment” without notice. ORS 652.150(1) provides for a penalty if an employer fails to pay wages within the time specified by ORS 652.140. Plaintiff is the personal representative of the estate of decedent, James Dorsett. Decedent was employed by defendant and died during the course of that employment. Defendant did not pay the wages owed to decedent within the time specified by ORS 652.140(2).
