Connie Clark Morris (defendant) was indicted on fourteen counts of larceny by employee. The evidence presented at trial tended to show the following. Defendant was an office clerk in the Littleton, North Carolina branch office of AAA Gas and Appliance Company, Inc. (employer) from December 1995 to November 1998. Defendant was responsible for receiving payments made to the employer, balancing and reconciling payment summaries, and depositing funds with the bank.
