Plaintiff, a farmer and defendant’s insured, lost a tractor and several pieces of equipment in a fire. Subsequently, after talking to defendant’s adjuster, plaintiff signed a blank proof-of-loss form. Defendant issued checks in settlement of the claim. However, plaintiff rejected the checks as inadequate and not representative of the actual cash value of the lost tractor, blade, and plow.
