On November 27, 2012, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (“Freddie Mac” or “plaintiff’) filed the above-entitled suit against Evelyn B. Shaffer (“Shaffer” or “defendant”) in the Circuit Court uf Jefferson County, Alabama. Freddie Mac sought one simple remedy available under the law of Alabama, namely, the eviction of Shaffer from certain real property, the title to which Freddie Mac had ostensibly acquired at a foreclosure sale.
