MEMORANDUM OPINION ON MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO OBJECT TO DISCHARGE AND DETERMINE DISCHARGEABILITY OF DEBT

Ordinarily, a creditor must seek an extension of the deadline for objecting to a debtor’s discharge or the deadline for determining that a debt is nondischargeable before the original deadline has expired. Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure 4004, however, provides an exception where the creditor does not learn of the basis for the objection to the debtor’s discharge until after the deadline has expired.
