On the 12th of February, 1912, Mr. J. F. Merryman, who describes himself in the papers as “the attorney of the N. K. Fairbank Company” and “a resident member of the bar of the city of St. Louis of the state of Missouri,” mailed from that city to the clerk of the court here an application and affidavits, praying that the presiding judge proceed no further in the case of the Jackson Lumber Company v.
