T. J. James instituted a suit for libel against Piedmont Cotton Mills and R. W. Goodman. The only allegations in the petition tending to show jurisdiction of the person of either of the defendants was that “this court has jurisdiction of said defendants and of the subject-matter of this suit.” It was alleged in the petition as amended, and as shown by exhibits attached thereto, that the plaintiff was a justice of the peace of the 1589 District G.
