George Vernor, convicted by a jury of robbery by means of a dangerous and deadly weapon and sentenced under the Second Offender Act to 17 years’ imprisonment, has appealed.

On September 12, 1973 one Frank Put-ney, a clerk in an A & P store in the City of St. Louis, noticed'a white Mercury automobile come into the parking lot. Two Negro males got out of the car.
