JONES, Justice.

Randy Maniccia, Jon Maniccia, and Susan Maniccia (collectively, “the Maniccias”), appellants, sued Johnson & Gibbs, P.C.; Kathryn K. Lindauer; Aldos Holdings, Ltd.; William M. Moore; and Daniel N. Matheson III (collectively, “defendants”), appellees, in the district court of Travis County. After a jury trial, the district court rendered a take-nothing judgment against the Maniccias. The trial court subsequently sustained contests to the Maniccias’ affidavit of inability to pay the costs of appeal; on defendants’ motion, the court also increased the amount of the cost bond.…
