Pursuant to section 74 of the Mental Hygiene Law, Doris Coates, by order of certification of a Monroe County Judge dated April 17, 1957, was admitted to Rochester State Hospital for observation and treatment for a period not exceeding 80 days. Personal service of a notice of the application for certification was duly dispensed with by separate order. Before the expiration of the 60-day period a duly designated medical officer of the institution executed a certificate that he considered Doris Coates to be in need of continued care and treatment, which certificate was duly filed in the office…
