This cause of action arises out of an automobile accident. The plaintiff/appellant Tommy Betz is the father of Jennifer L. Betz, a minor. Jennifer was a passenger in an automobile driven by Christopher D. Clapham. Jennifer was thrown from the automobile, receiving extensive injuries, including at least partial *555paralysis. State Farm Mutual Insurance Company (State Farm) had the primary insurance on the Clapham vehicle. Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Agency of Kansas, Inc.
