Defendant was convicted of second-degree murder, in violation of MCL 750.317; MSA 28.549, and conspiracy to commit murder in the second degree, in violation of MCL 750.157a; MSA 28.354(1) and MCL 750.317; MSA 28.549, following a jury trial. He was acquitted on a charge of possession of a firearm during *590the commission of a felony. MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2). He was sentenced to serve two concurrent terms of from 18 to 25 years in prison. Defendant appeals his convictions as of right.
