Five defendants — appellants Baugham and Wells and three others, Honesty, White, and James Nelson, Jr. 1 — were tried together for conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846. Each of the five defendants was also tried in the same proceeding on one or more substantive offenses, each involving drugs, guns, or both.
