This is an action upon a written contract of lease by plaintiff to defendant of a patent for an improvement in hydro carbon furnaces. Plaintiff recovered judgment for $290,000, of which $200,000 was principal, $50,000 was accrued interest from September 28, 1924, to October 28, 1928, the date of the verdict, and $40,000 was attorneys' fees, for which the contract provided. Defendant appealed after its motion for a new trial had been overruled. Defendant, by its verified answer, denied the execution of the pleaded contract.
