On November 18, 1994, Larry E. Bolton filed a complaint seeking workers’ compensation benefits for a back injury he sustained on or about September 4, 1991, while working in the line and scope of his employment for James River Corporation (“JRC”). JRC answered and admitted compensability, but it challenged the extent of Bolton’s disability. Bolton and JRC subsequently entered into a settlement agreement, which the trial court incorporated into its judgment of May 19, 1995.
