State Ex Rel. Martin v. Superior Court

In the year 1925, one Barney Hanson and others filed an action in the superior court of Whatcom county against a number of defendants, among whom was the First National Bank of Belling-ham. The gist of the complaint was that the plaintiffs were stockholders in a corporation, and that, on behalf of the corporation, an application had been, made to the treasury department for refund of certain income and excess profit taxes.
