This was an action for damages on account of a defective bridge that was a part of the county highway system in Shawnee county. Judgment was for plaintiff. Defendant appeals.
The bridge is located on the county highway system and is the means by which a great deal of the traffic from Oakland to North Topeka crosses the Kaw river. It is a steel bridge, rests on piers, is about 940 feet long and about 18 feet wide. The car which plaintiff’s husband was driving ran through the guardrails on the south side of this bridge and fell into the water…
