Michel C. Bouvier died on July 29,1935, leaving a last will and testament which provided, among other things, as follows:

I give and bequeath to my nephew, John Vernou Bouvier, Jr., in addition to the other provisions of this Will for his benefit, and in addition to the legal fees which he will receive as one of the Executors of this my Will, the sum of $50,000 absolutely.
