The city of Houston, as plaintiff, filed this suit in one of the district courts of Harris county against J. M. Blair, as the defendant, to recover for the use and benefit of the Creosoted Wood Block Paving Company a personal judgment for money alleged to be due and owing by Blair to said paving company, and also for foreclosure of a lien claimed in favor of the paving company on a portion of a certain lot owned by Blair in the city of Houston.
