MEMORANDUM AND OPINION
KATZ, District Judge.
INTRODUCTION
Plaintiff Alfred Ferreri brought this action to recover damages for trading losses he sustained on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange as a limited partner in a market making firm called Idraniam Trading Partners. The defendant, First Options of Chicago, Inc. (“First Options”), has filed a motion to compel the arbitration of Ferreri’s claims in accordance with section 4 1 of the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. §§ 1-14 as well as for a stay of proceedings pending arbitration in accordance with section 3 2 of the Act.
