Petitioner Warren Scott III, a prisoner in the custody of the state of Louisiana, appeals the district court’s denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. His § 2254 petition raised three claims, one of which is not at issue on this appeal. In the two that are, Scott seeks to challenge an aggravated-burglary conviction on the ground that his guilty plea thereto was not knowing and voluntary and a sexual-battery conviction on the ground of ineffective assistance of counsel.
