RATTIGAN, J.

Marvin Taylor (hereinafter applicant) applied to respondent Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (the Board) for industrial benefits due him by reason of three separate back injuries he had sustained in the course of his employment. In proceedings to be described, the Board effectively determined that he had incurred a combined 69 percent permanent disability from all three injuries, did not apportion it among them, but made separate awards which reflected a three-way apportionment of the permanent disability indemnity payable to applicant.
