On November 7, 1949, Mrs. Kate Smith and her four named sisters brought a suit for declaratory relief in Chatham Superior Court against John U. Tippins Jr., their brother, and The Citizens and Southern National Bank, as administrator of the estate of John U. Tippins Sr., their father.
