Issue

Code § 522(d)(ll)(D) permits a debtor to exempt “[t]he debtor’s right to receive ... a payment, not to exceed $7,500, on account of personal bodily injury, not including pain or suffering or compensation for actual pecuniary loss, of the debtor....” The question presented by this proceeding is whether § 522(d)(ll)(D) entitles a debtor, who has sustained personal bodily injuries in two separate prepetition accidents, to two exemptions of $7,500.
