Plaintiff, a former employee of the Department of the Interior, sues under the “Salary Retention Act of 1956.”1 This act applied to certain Government employees who had been placed in a lower grade as a result of the “reclassification” of their position. The effect of the act was to grant to such persons the rate of compensation which they were receiving immediately prior to the reclassification.
