EVERETT, Chief Judge:

In July 1987, Major Appel, a reservist, was ordered to perform a short tour of active duty, during which he served as commander of a squadron participating in the Bright Star exercise in Egypt. One of the members of the same squadron was Senior Airman Sherry P. Rast. Appellant’s conduct while in Egypt and in transit back to his home in Texas led to his conviction on a charge with three specifications alleging fraternization, in violation of Article 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 934, and on an Additional Charge of adultery, preferred under the same…
