Before the court is a petition filed by Tiffany A. for custody of her 16-year-old daughter, Tiffany H. In paragraph two of her pleading, Tiffany A. asserts that she is "the mother of the child.” The respondent is identified in paragraph four of the pleading as "the adoptive mother of the child.” The respondent appeared in court on the day the petition was filed and consented to the relief the petitioner is seeking.
