We have before us appeals emanating from two separate series of indictments and two separate jury trials of various individual and corporate defendants..

All of these appeals were taken under G. L. c. 278, §§ 33A-33G, and are before us because of the convictions of a number of individuals and corporations. The corporations convicted in the first trial were Beneficial Finance Company (Beneficial), Household Finance Corporation (Household) and Liberty Loan Corporation (Liberty).
