Plaintiffs filed a motion for rehearing. We grant the motion, withdraw our opinion and judgment of July 23, 1998, and issue and render a new opinion and judgment.

This appeal arises from a libel suit brought in the trial court by Transameri-can Natural Gas Corporation (TNG) and John Stanley (a/k/a Jack Stanley), collectively plaintiffs, against Texas Monthly, Inc., Mediatex Communications Corporation, and Gary Cartwright, collectively defendants.
