INTRODUCTION

The defendant, Kenneth Scott Richards (Richards), moves to suppress statements that he made in the presence of, or to, police, including a statement to medical personnel at the Anna Jacques Hospital Intensive Care Unit (I.C.U.), and two tape-recorded statements he made directly to police, all on June 23, 2006. Richards claims that the statements were elicited in violation of Miranda, and were involuntary.
